Wednesday thoughts (New Schwarzenegger film, Alien fights Darcy, robert downey time travels)

The inbox the inbox, what an interesting place. For every ten emails that brag you can improve your performance, or make a million really easily, there sits some movie news that I am waiting for. Today brings mew gossip that Arnold is being enticed back to the big screen for a little cameo. In what I hear you cry? Well maybe Terminator salvation (but we guessed that already) but certainly in Sylvester Stallone’s new boys adventure flick “The Expendables”. The film is bragging a wonderful mixed cast, with Jet Li, Dolph Lungren, and Jason Statham as well as heavy weight Forest Whittaker, and returned to the division Mickey Rourke, (and Sly himself.)

We like the idea of a team of questionably motivated individuals over throwing a South American dictator. (I’ve already revisited the dirty dozen in my head) but news that Arnie is popping up not only gives a surprise jolt of interest, but a clue as to his career aims when he is no longer governor of California.

I don’t even have a poster to show you, so sorry, you’ll have to ponder on it.

The paring I have always wanted to see on screen. Reese Witherspoon and Robert Downey Junior. Well maybe not, although it would have been funny if in real life they had met when RDJ was in full swing…anyways,
“The Days Before” is a hi concept Sci-Fi flick where a set of aliens are trying to take over earth by travelling through time to wipe put humans. I don’t understand much more about the flick so I wont over complicate, but our hero tries to beat the alien intruder by keeping one day behind them (ie in front of them erm……) to stop the invasion. Robert might work well in serious sci-fi so I feel that his career return will take an interesting move with this. Lets hope Sherlock Holmes doesn’t stop his revival.

Well Pride and Predator takes the biscuit today. Elton John’s production company rocket films, is making this spin on classic period drama. When right in the middle of a Georgian Tea Party (we hope) an alien crash lands and starts to wipe everyone out. A middle class hero has to step up and we have this clever plot developing. Action film in the middle of middle England drama. I am begging for Hugh Grant to be cast as an older lothario who starts to kick aliens in the head…..please Mr Darcy etc etc
That’s all for today, stay in touch love the comments,

  2. Hi Newman,

Greetings from Hollywood! Thanks for your comment on my blog. I didn't know our governor will be making a movie. He should be balancing our budget.

    Rock on.

  3. It was about a man who goes onto a distant planet, I believe he crashes, fights aliens but one of them had a child and he ends up raising the alien as his son. I'm usually really good at guessing movies but for the life of me I can't guess what movie it is and none of my friends or family members know.
